Ben Affleck’s full frontal scene in Gone Girl
BEN Affleck is trying to lower expectations before the world sees him fully n**e in Gone Girl, saying, “It was a very cold set, it was freezing”.
The 42-year-old star has revealed that he appears fully n**e in his new movie Gone Girl which hits cinemas tomorrow.
“Director David (Fincher) said to me from the beginning, ‘This is a warts and all movie. It can have no vanity. You have to see the n*k*d underbelly of this character.’ It’s gotta be like in Europe, they just don’t give a s*** about any of that stuff and they just play real people. So that was the spirit of the thing and we kind of stuck to that, me and Rosamund (Pike).”
But Affleck is lowering expectations before the world sees mini Ben, jokingly saying, “You should know it was very cold, it was a very cold set.”
The two time Academy Award winner also revealed other secrets from the set of Gone Girl in a Facebook Q+A this morning, telling fans the filming process was lengthy to say the least.
“The most we did (number of takes per scene) was 60,” said Affleck.
“Towards the end David (Fincher) and I were very much in sync and it would take seven or eight takes. We had gotten into the grove.
“There is a scene walking along the beach with me and my mother-in-law. Everything was supposed to be in concert. We shot it 45 times one day, 36 the next.”
The film has been getting rave reviews from critics and according to Affleck, women have been reacting to the movie differently to men.
“It’s funny that women ask me what it is like to play such a jerk and men don’t ask me that,” said Affleck.
“You will see that this movie will divide people by gender in many instances because it is about relationships, and people lying about relationships, we do not like to think that is us.
“What is interesting, and what this movie shows, is that showing people our best side gets to be too much work and we get to have people to see who someone really is and the mask comes off.
