Marilyn Monroe, whose real name was Norma Jeane Baker or Norma Jeane Mortenson, is the great icon of Hollywood cinema of all time, whose image and personal history became legendary and have influenced popular culture for decades.

There have been many film or television projects in which they have wanted to tell her life, understand her mystery, recreate her world or, at least, make reference to her legacy. The most recent and about to be released is the film Blonde, in which Ana de Armas will play the character of the star. However, many other actresses have faced this challenge from different perspectives.

In 2012, Michelle Williams was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of the quintessential blonde in My Week with Marilyn, in which she starred opposite Eddie Redmayne and Kenneth Branagh.

There we could see the actress Susan Griffiths, who bears a great physical resemblance to Marilyn Monroe, and who has made a career impersonating the legendary actress in different titles such as the series The Defenders, Timecop, Dark Skies or Quantum Leap, the video of Elton John from the theme Candle in the wind and the TV movie My Life with Marilyn.

Special mention deserves the British actress and impersonator Suzie Kennedy, who also has a great resemblance to Marilyn and who models and appears in different events and tributes characterized as the star of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

In a peculiar 2007 film, starring Diego Luna, who plays a Michael Jackson impersonator who wanders the streets of Paris, it was the turn of the English actress Samantha Morton to do the same with the character of Marilyn Monroe.

The film is called Mister Lonely and was directed by Harmony Korine, who directed Spring Breakers with James Franco and Selena Gomez and wrote the script for the cult film Kids, based on a story by Larry Clark, director of this film.
