1. Tris Prior from Divergent
The protagonist of the Divergent saga had to have her characteristic gray eyes. What's more, the vast majority of the actors in this production were very different from the characters described in the books. Tris also lacked more strength and independence, because she seemed to depend too much on Four, which was not the case in the novels.
2. Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Annabeth Chase was the daughter of the Greek goddess Athena in the Percy Jackson saga. In the books, she was described as a blonde, gray-eyed girl with an intense and analytical look, apart from being extremely intelligent and a determined warrior, which went against the stereotypes associated with that hair color.
3. Jack Reacher
Tom Cruise played this character twice. However, he was not so suitable for the role, since according to the fans, Jack Reacher needed another more imposing actor without losing the elegance of someone like James Bond. In the expectation of knowing who could play the enigmatic military investigator, a list of the most suitable actors for this role emerged. Among them was Henry Cavill.
4. Bella Swan from Twilight
The protagonist of this saga should have been paler, with a round face and straight hair with reddish highlights compared to Kristen Stewart's waves. Surprisingly, actress Emily Browning was author Stephenie Meyer's favorite for the role.
5. Jordan Baker from The Great Gatsby
This character from the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of the most beloved because of his personality. Basically, in this film, the girl is more sarcastic compared to the one in the 1974 version. However, Jordan from the 2013 film fades into the background, and we don't know much about her or her closeness with Nick, the narrator both in film production and in the book.
6. Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The chocolate genius Willy Wonka had only two adaptations to the big screen. Even so, Johnny Depp played a very different character from the one in the 1970s movie. According to the novel, Wonka was physically more similar to the version of Gene Wilder, the protagonist of the 1970s classic. Depp became iconic for his eccentricity, his origins, and his looks so peculiar and more faithful to the descriptions in the book.
7. Edward Cullen from Twilight
The main vampire in the twilight saga should have had auburn hair instead of brown. On top of that, his eye color was constantly changing, something that wasn't so apparent in the movies. Before he became a vampire he had them green, and when he transformed, they varied from gold to black (at one time they were even red).
8. Tiger Princess from Peter Pan
Peter Pan is one of the most beautiful children's works, which we remember for its various adaptations, such as the Disney animated one. However, in Peter Pan (2015) there was a rather controversial detail regarding the ethnicity of the Neverland natives, especially with Princess Tigrilla, played by Rooney Mara. As in the Disney version, in the original work, the indigenous people of the island were very similar to the native Americans, so the choice of Mara to play this role was not very successful.
9. Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter
Sadly, Ginny didn't carry the same weight in the Harry Potter movies, as she was reduced to Harry's love interest. In the books, she was described as smart, energetic, and eloquent, which we didn't get to see much of on the tapes. Also, as a good Weasley, she should have been much more redheaded and freckled, like her brothers.
10. Marvel's Nick Fury
Originally, Nick Fury was Caucasian, but in the early 2011 comics, he was given a radical makeover, taking the success of Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal as a model. After that, not only did the actor continue to play the role, but in all subsequent comics and animated series, this character was based on his appearance and performance.
