Chiqui Fernandez, traveling actress, and queen of the night

Chiqui Fernandez is one of those consolidated artists in Spain who have gone through countless productions and make themselves known beyond her famous credits in the series 'Women' or 'Love is Forever'. She presents her followers and the press with a complete professional portrait in which she defines herself as an actress, screenwriter, producer, and creative.

After asking ourselves this question and immersing ourselves in an investigation through her curriculum and profile on social networks, we can extract five main keys with which we can get to know the Madrid interpreter a little better. From her beginnings to her identity stamp on the papers she gives life to, go through and discover who Chiqui Fernández is beyond her professional career.

The beginning of Chiqui Fernandez

Chiqui was born in Madrid on June 27, 1969, under the name of Carmen Fernández García and her interest in the world of performing arts was present from an early age. She trained as an actress at the prestigious Madrid Royal School of Dramatic Art (RESAD), where she graduated with a degree in Acting.

In an interview published on the AISGE (Interpreting Artists, Management Society) website in 2013, she confessed that she did not fear the crisis for herself, but for her son and "those who come after her" from her. In this conversation, she assured me that as an actress and a single mother, she has learned to make a living from acting. "I've done everything from childish clown and busking to hosting clubs and dancing to Gipsy Kings stuff in London at the age of 20," she declares.

Although Fernández is close and open with her followers on her Instagram (just over 7,000), she does not usually publish or talk about things related to her private life. She limits her interactions on the social network to highlighting her work and sharing little bits of her day-to-day life, travels, or hobbies.

The Madrid actress began her adventures in the theater, like the vast majority of young performers who seek to succeed in the world of performing arts. However, it wasn't until her big screen debut in the 1999 comedy-drama "Flowers From Another World" (available on Netflix) that she became known beyond the boards. This role was followed by a supporting role in 'Journalists', a Telecinco series that was widely supported by the audience, and later she managed to be part of the cast of 'Women', the series by Felix Sabroso and Dunia Ayaso produced by Pedro Almodovar.

Precisely for her performance in these two television productions, she won two awards from the Union of Actors (in 2002 and 2006) and a Frames of Silver award (2006) in the category of best supporting actress and best leading actress.

After continuing to accumulate credits with 'The Family Kills' and 'Love is Forever', in recent years we have seen her in the series 'The Kings of the Night', together with Javier Gutiérrez, 'serve and Protect, and 'Alta mar '. Her secondary role in this latest series (from Netflix) may be one of the jobs that have given her more visibility outside national borders.
