The actress Kim Cattrall will once again play the mythical character of Samantha Jones in the second season of her spin-off 'And Just Like That...' and the conditions that the actress has set have surprised everyone.
In 2016, Cattrall made the decision to no longer interpret the character that gave him a Golden Globe in 2003, considering that Jones had not had a good personal development. In addition, the actress assured that she and her co-stars were not financially compensated enough in the third film of 'S-x and the City', where Sarah Jessica Parker would earn much more than them, but it was finally canceled.

This created great tension with Parker and they ended up breaking her friendship. When plans for a spin-off of the hit 1998 show began, Cattrall was not part of the cast of Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon.
Thus, during season 1 of 'And Just Like That...' Samantha is mentioned and they talk about her with her through messages. But, now, it has been known that Kim Cattrall has secretly recorded a cameo and we will see her again in season 2. News that nobody expected after making it clear that she had broken forever with the series.
After learning that Samantha Jones returns, albeit in a brief appearance, the conditions that the actress has requested to reappear in this second season have become known. Thus, sources close to the series have told 'Page Six' that Cattrall's appearance was marked by two key factors:
"Kim had two conditions: one, that she wouldn't perform with any of the other girls, and two, that she didn't want to see Michael Patrick King." Indeed, the actress did not want to coincide with any of her former filming partners Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, nor with the director and screenwriter of the series.
A source direct from the studio confirmed to 'Page Six' that Cattrall's cameo came as a "shock" to many on set, and another person in attendance that day revealed that Cattrall was not on the call sheet at Silvercup Studios in Queens.
Cattrall has given the last blow of her in this high-profile return, as the source of the program said: "He will have taken a lot of money. This shows the power that Kim has."
"They still need her on the show. But even though this may make fans think she's coming back for the next season, she's never coming back. They treated her badly," the source said.
"I'm glad she gets to be the hero...I'm sure it took a lot of patience to make the cameo happen."
An HBO Max spokesperson told 'Page Six': "The offer presented to Kim was always going to be a phone call, shot alone like most calls. It was an easy and comfortable way to get Samantha back. We're delighted that worked".
And so it will be, in the scene of the expected return, Samantha appears in a car having a telephone conversation with Carrie. The producers justified the absence of Samantha in the first episodes of And Just Like That...' clarifying that the character now lives in London and that she and Carrie had a disagreement when the writer left her as a publicist.
