Sam Smith had to cancel a concert in Manchester

It turns out that on May 24 and according to the magazine, Sam Smith appeared at the Arena in Manchester, which was packed to see him. Everything was going great, and even the audience had a chance to hear riffs like “Stay With Me”, “I'm Not The Only One”, “Like I Can” and “Too Good At Goodbyes”. But from this last song, things got out of control.

According to the same source, after that last great song, Sam Smith left the stage for a long time and the lights in the place dimmed. People inside were the show even though it was a power outage or something similar. However, minutes later they were told that the concert had ended due to "vocal problems" by the British artist and asked them to leave the arena.

Sam Smith has a vocal cord injury, and it's more serious than he seems...

Of course, Sam Smith could not remain silent and through his Instagram stories, he published a couple of statements explaining what happened in Manchester. To cut a long story short, the singer apologized to everyone and stated that he had to cancel the concert due to a virus he is dealing with.

“Dear sailors, I don't know what to say honestly. I battled a virus a few weeks ago and since then we have traveled Europe and had amazing shows. Today at soundcheck I felt good and I was really excited to give Manchester an amazing show tonight, with a special surprise at the end.

“During my third song, I noticed something wrong with my voice. I prayed it was just my voice waking up for the show, but by the fourth song, I could feel something was seriously wrong. I left the stage and tried everything to get my voice back but to no avail. I'm honestly heartbroken that I couldn't finish the concert tonight for all of you. I love you all, I'm sorry."

Unfortunately, it seems that the health issue of Sam Smith is more serious than it seems. For starters, he had to cancel two other Gloria tour dates, which have been rescheduled for May 25 and 27 in Glasgow and Birmingham respectively, and there are no plans to reschedule them.

In addition, in the updates that Sam Smith has given on his social networks, he mentioned that the doctors asked him to rest completely, since the British artist may suffer permanent damage to his voice if they continue with the tour and do not properly treat the injury that has on the vocal cords.
