$35 million for a single day's work is what actor George Clooney has said no to.
It's safe to assume that most people wouldn't turn down the chance to be in commercials or airline TV spots, earning $35 million in a single day. But veteran Oscar-winning actor George Clooney isn't like other people.
George Clooney admitted that, after consulting or assessing it with his wife Amal Clooney, a prestigious Lebanese-born human rights lawyer, regarding the proposal to receive a seven-figure salary for a one-day job, Clooney said in an interview with the newspaper British The Guardian:
'Well, they offered me 35 million dollars to work one day in the airline's spots, but I spoke to Amal and we don't think it's worth it… I thought that if you need to lose a minute of sleep for this, it's not worth it. Clooney did not specify which country the rejected airline belonged to or when the proposal was rejected.
The actor is not new to these television commercials
He appeared in a $40 million Nespresso ad and also appeared in an ad for his Casamigos tequila company, which he sold for about $1 billion four years ago.
Clooney's next project puts him on both sides of the camera. He directed and produced the new movie 'The Gentle Bar', for Netflix, but did not appear in it. He also shared the lead with Julia Roberts in the romantic comedy 'Tickets to Heaven', which will be released on October 22, 2022, under the direction of Ol Parker.
On the other hand, Clooney will film a movie for Apple TV with Brad Pitt in the UK next summer; the details of the tape have not yet been announced. However, Clooney revealed to The Guardian that as he turns 60, he talks a lot with his wife about his presence on the big and small screen.
Clooney claims that he can still play well and most like what he does. But he has to make sure he doesn't do stupid things or say them. So the key for him is to make sure you live his life wisely. The actor points out that if he blindly accepted 99% of the jobs he is offered, he would surely lose more than he would actually gain. Maturity seems to suit the veteran actor very well.
