Bryan Cranston decided to leave acting unexpectedly

Bryan Cranston has an extensive career in the world of film and television, but without a doubt, it was his role as Walter White in the Breaking Bad series that made him gain great popularity internationally.

Although his career started in the 1980s, it was in 2008 that the whole world got to know his face thanks to his great portrayal of the chemistry teacher who becomes an expert at cooking methamphetamine. And since then, he hasn't stopped for a second as opportunities kept coming.

It is for this reason that Bryan Cranston recently assured that he already has a retirement date. In a revealing interview with GQ magazine, the actor assured that he will say goodbye to his career in 2026. There he also said that his decision has a lot to do with his wife, Robin Dearden.

"I want to change the paradigm once again. For the last 24 years, Robin led her life based on mine. She was my date, she was the wife of a celebrity. She had to change and adjust her life based on mine. She got a big benefit from that, but there is inequality. I want to level that. She deserves it," the Breaking Bad star confided.

But that is not the only decision that he has already made for his future. The actor also recounted that once he retired, with his wife they would move to a town in France, where they will learn the language, cultivate their own garden and dedicate themselves to cooking and spending time together.

"I want to have that experience. I want to go on hikes, build a fire in the fireplace, drink wine with new friends, and not read scripts. It's not going to be like, 'Oh, I'm going to read and see what I'm going to do. No, it's a pause. It's a stop. I will not think about work. I will not receive calls, "he added.

But until that moment arrives, Bryan Cranston still has a few projects to tackle. He will soon be releasing his new film directed by Wes Anderson, Asteroid City, and Matthew Vaughnen's Argyle. His upcoming projects include Jackpot and Everything's Going to Be Great.
