James Cameron Reveals The Scene Leonardo DiCaprio Hated To Do

This, beyond telling the story of the famous ship whose opulence was many meters underwater, put two people of completely different classes as protagonists but united by love, a feeling that would later lead them to fight to survive.

As the years have gone by, several things have been revealed regarding the film and the Titanic itself, even the departure of another ship is being planned to remove the 'thorn' once and for all.

However, one of those secrets that no one expects is the one that James Cameron told in a conversation with film critic Ali Plumb, on BBC Radio 1, where he discussed the scene in which Rose lies down on the floating door after that the Titanic sank but also something that nobody expected.

Almost at the beginning of the film, Leonardo DiCaprio appears, or rather, Jack, going around the entire ship to finally reach the bow, he gets on with his friend Fabrizio and shouts "I am the king of the world!". However, it is at that moment that, according to James' words, he had to talk about that scene with Leo, because he did not want to do it, much less shout "I am the king of the world."

After so much discussion, at the end, James Cameron yelled at him: “Just sell it (make it) damn it!”, so DiCaprio had to do it. “The point is, that (the line) was invented at that time. It was prepared on the spot and was in a crane basket. And we were losing power, and we'd already tried this and that, and we tried this line and that, and nothing was really working,” Cameron says.

The film director also adds: "And I was literally freaking out and then I said, 'I've got something for you, just say, 'I'm the king of the world.' And open your eyes from side to side and enjoy that moment, love it, and celebrate it. Then Leo says to me: 'What?', so I am listening to this on a walkie-talkie. Just say, 'I'm the king of the world,' you have to sell it."

At the time, when James told him that, Leo was still questioning that line until finally, James yelled at him, and in the, end it became one of the many iconic moments in the movie.

In fact, Leonardo DiCaprio may not have starred in Titanic, because at some point in life, Matthew McConaughey auditioned and even thought he had made it. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor commented: “I went to audition for the role (of Jack in Titanic). I wanted him. I auditioned with Kate Winslet. She had had a good audition. I left very confident that she had gotten it (the role). I didn't understand why not. They never offered me the part."
