Jennifer Lawrence's response when asked if she understands her film Mother

At her young age, Jennifer Lawrence has extensive filmography that includes titles such as Blood Ties, American Swindle, The Light Side of Life, and her participation in sagas such as X-Men and The Hunger Games. In 2017, the Oscar-winning actress released the film Mother, directed by Darren Aronofsky.

The psychological horror film follows the idyllic life of a woman and her husband in a house in the middle of nowhere. However, that harmony is interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious couple.

To date, Mother has turned out to be one of the most divisive works of Lawrence's career. The film presents a story riddled with biblical references that cannot be fully appreciated firsthand. Likewise, the tape was strongly criticized for some scenes with a lot of explicit violence.

The actress recently participated in Watch What Happens Live, the talk show hosted by Andy Cohen. There, the 32-year-old interpreter participated in a segment in which she had to rate how well she understood her films and she provided some advice for actors who have difficulty understanding her own films. So the driver asked about her Mother's movie, to which Lawrence responded as honestly as possible.

"I'll be honest. Well, I was sleeping with the director, so I had grades. So... five? Or a four," the actress replied with a laugh. "But if anyone needs any advice on understanding your movies, you know what to do," Jennifer quipped.

Lawrence's answer has to do with the fact that during the filming of Mother she had a relationship with Darren Aronofsky, so her answer is not only honest but truthful. The couple began dating in 2016 and ended their relationship in November 2017, a few months after the film's release.

Despite her statements, while the actress was promoting the film in 2017, she explained that despite all the symbolism and biblical allegories, Mother narrates the abuse and torment against Mother Earth. In the film, Lawrence plays Mother Earth, Javier Bardem plays a form of God, the creator; Michelle Pfeiffer is Eve, and Ed Harris's character is Adam.
