Being considered a style icon and a global fashion reference comes at a cost. A study has revealed that Meghan Markle is the royal who spends the most on clothes: five times more than other queens and princesses. Letizia, on the other hand, does not stand out for being a big spender, since she is ranked 11th on the list of the 14 royals analyzed.
According to research by UFO No More, a website dedicated to analyzing the outfits of members of the European royal houses, the bill for the Duchess of Sussex's wardrobe and accessories in 2018 was close to half a million pounds. Specifically, 406,915.43 pounds (452,816 euros).
The website has analyzed the cost of 1,661 garments worn over the last 12 months by queens and princesses from Great Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Holland, and Spain. The conclusions of the study have shown that Meghan has been the biggest spender. Her outfits, signed by Dior, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, or Carolina Herrera, among other major brands, have cost 333,500 euros more than those worn by Princess Mary of Denmark, the second in the ranking. That's not counting Meghan's wedding dress.

The British media have been scrutinizing Meghan's wardrobe ever since she became part of the British royal family and some informants have doubled UFO No More's estimates, estimating the Duchess's clothing spending at more than one million euros. Sussex.
The list of websites specializing in royals places Queen Letizia in eleventh place, with an estimated expenditure of 40,100 euros on the nearly 100 models that she debuted in 2018.
Above Letizia are Princess Mary of Denmark (98,851 euros); Sophie from Wessex (81,714 euros); Kate Middleton (75,898 euros); Mette-Marit from Norway (58,094 euros); Charlene from Monaco (57,977 euros); Maxima from Holland (53,689 euros); Beatrice of York (53,164 euros); Marie from Denmark (48,489 euros) and Victoria from Sweden (41,507 euros). In positions 12, 13, and 14 are Eugenia de York (35,388 euros); Sofia from Sweden (29,381 euros), and Magdalena from Sweden (25,331 euros).
The study has shown that all of them are light years away from the Duchess of Sussex's very expensive wardrobe, paid for by her father-in-law, the Prince of Wales. Prince Harry's wife's pregnancy has not reduced her styling bill either. Only on the 16-day tour that the couple took through Oceania last October, Meghan wore outfits worth 131,000 euros.
