Shannen Doherty revealed on her social networks the way she fights against the disease.
Shannen Doherty fell in love with everyone when she starred in Beverly Hills 90210. It was thought that her career would go up from that series, but her life put stones in her way. A few years ago, she confirmed that she was battling cancer. After a while, she began with aggressive treatments and showed on her social networks how she currently fights the disease.
Her problems began in 2015 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Although she began to treat herself, almost eight years after the diagnosis, she confirmed that she has metastases in much of her body. Since they told her what she suffered, she began to tell her experience on social networks and the media.
Some months after she was told that she had cancer, she gave an interview to Good Morning America and explained: “It's a very bitter pill in every way. I have days when I ask myself: 'Why me?' But then I think: 'Who else? who deserves this? Nobody. I'm not ready to die. I have a lot of life in me."
“There are things I need to tell my mother. I want my husband to know what he means to me. But every time the time comes to do it, it all seems so final. He feels like you're closing something down, giving up, and I'm not,” Doherty added.
And she added: “I fight to stay alive. Many people who are diagnosed with stage 4 are written off. They are not supposed to be able to work or they are not supposed to be able to work at full capacity, and that is not true. I feel like I'm a very, very healthy human being. It's hard to get my business over with when I feel like I'm going to live another 10 or 15 years."
Now, after years of treatment, she revealed that she has stepped up the intensity and is aggressively fighting cancer: “On January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and a lot was going on. That fear, the agitation, the timing of it all – this is what cancer can look like.”
Through her Instagram account, the Beverly Hills 90210 actress recounted the physical consequences of the disease: “I had a lot of nosebleeds due to chemotherapy. I'm not sure if any of you experienced this. I was also beyond tired.”
