The Colombian singer Shakira had heavier artillery prepared, however, at the last moment she decided to soften some parts.
Shakira and Gerard Piqué starred in one of the most scandalous separations in show business, becoming one of the most sought-after things on social networks
The celebrity couple had a back-and-forth of hints and comments that became public and even became memes that were shared by millions of people around the world.
Perhaps the clearest example was the song that Shakira, together with Bizarrap, dedicated to Gerard Piqué and which quickly became the most listened-to song on Spotify worldwide. In the song, the Colombian shot the former player and his new girlfriend, Clara Chía, and left a series of iconic phrases that became part of current pop culture.
Some of those phrases are "I wish you well with my supposed replacement", "You changed a Ferrari for a Twingo. You changed a Rolex for a Casio", "I'm worth two 22s", "I only make music, Sorry for splashing you", “You have the name of a good person, It's clearly not what it sounds like” and the famous “Women no longer cry, women make money”.
However, it now came to light that some of the song's phrases were stronger and they decided to change them at the last minute, as they could have caused some kind of legal problem or because they felt they were crossing a limit. It was the composer Keityn through an interview with Molusco TV who revealed the changes that Shakira's song dedicated to her ex-partner, Gerard Piqué, underwent and surprised everyone.
“We remove strong things. We changed parts because then things could happen. We changed the verses several times. We had to change it to be more meticulous. We were looking for the exact point, without going overboard, but not sounding soft either," he explained to the media.
From behind the recording that the composer who worked side by side with Shakira gave, he revealed a phrase that they ended up taking: "That chili pepper needs more spice."
The song had such an impact that they even sang it to Gerard Piqué during an event at his Kings League club, a video that also went viral.
