In a recent interview, Gwyneth Paltrow gave a clear example of how you can healthily reflect on past loves and learn from them, despite mistakes.
Gwyneth Paltrow has been one of the most famous actresses of recent decades. Since the 90s, she has conquered the big screen multiple times in successful Hollywood productions. Therefore, it was to be expected that her love life had been full of other big movie stars.
Recently, the actress was invited to a podcast, where she was asked a little about her ex-love. She proposed a game called “Brad or Ben” where she had to compare which of these two stars, who the public knows quite well, was better in different aspects as a couple.
In 1994, Paltrow met Brad Pitt while filming the film Seven together and they began dating. She described it as “great love at first sight.” She said her relationship with him was always very loving and there was great chemistry.
In 1996 they got engaged and although everyone, including her family, was delighted with the engagement, they broke up after a few months, before stepping on the altar. Paltrow admitted that she was devastated when they broke up, but that although it was painful, at the time it was the right thing to do.
On the other hand, her relationship with Ben Affleck was somewhat different. The actress met Ben at a celebrity party and later they shared the screen in the film Passionate Shakespeare and A Turn of the Heart. They were dating at different times between 1997 and 2000.
Although she admitted that she was the one who made him smile the best, she also commented that it was a less stable relationship. They had constant separations and contrary to their previous commitment, her parents did not accept her union with him so well. “I wasn't in a good place in his life to have a girlfriend.”
In comparison, although she admits that they were both excellent kissers, they were very different as a couple. Brad Pitt was more tender and loving with her. They had a better emotional connection. While Affleck was fun and passionate.
At one point, the interviewer complimented Gwyneth about her former partners, to which the actress replied: “And those are just the ones you know.” Despite everything, it is clear that Gwyneth has a lot of appreciation for both actors. Now, as a mother of a family, married for the second time, she accepts that each step is what she should have gone through at the time. “Looking back, I had a lot of growing to do.”
