Kate Winslet had to film a scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in front of her then-husband.
Kate Winslet is one of the most recognized actresses worldwide for her great role in the popular film 'Titanic', a film in which she starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, an actor with whom she forged a great friendship, but with whom she was not always comfortable in his films.
What made Kate Winslet uncomfortable with Leonardo DiCaprio?
It turns out that the famous interpreter of Rose DeWitt Bukater has revealed that filming scenes with Leonardo DiCaprio in front of her then-husband, Sam Mendes, was a little strange.
This was confessed by the Hollywood star during an interview with The Mirror, in which he talked about his lasting friendship with the protagonist of 'The Wolf of Wall Street', which began on the set of 'Titanic' 25 years ago.
According to what was reported by Triple UK, the 'Avatar 2' actress explained that she and the Jack Dawson interpreter wanted to work together again after 'Titanic', and the opportunity finally arose with the 2008 historical drama 'Revolutionary Road ', which was directed by her ex-husband.
The actress has been open about her strong friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio, whom she credits with helping her navigate fame and the pressures of the industry. In the aforementioned interview, Kate Winslet said that her friendship with the actor is "a real brother-sister thing."
But in the movie, when they played April and Frank Wheeler, a 1950s suburban couple struggling to keep their marriage afloat, some scenes made her uncomfortable.
Although the film features scenes between the two actors, the 47-year-old woman admitted that having her husband supervise those scenes was an uncomfortable experience. "It was the element of, 'Okay, my husband is there.' That was a little weird,” she revealed.
However, despite her uncomfortable situation, her work in the film was well received since thanks to it she won a Golden Globe in 2009.
Marriage of Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes
The couple of artists married in 2003 but later ended their marriage amicably in 2010. Since then, the actress remarried Edward Abel Smith, also known as Ned Rocknroll.
"The separation is completely amicable and by mutual agreement. Both parties are committed to the joint venture of raising their children. They have asked that the press respect the privacy of their family," their lawyer explained at the time according to the BBC.
However, according to some English media, this breakup would be a consequence of the excellent relationship that existed between the director and his co-worker Rebecca Hall.
The couple's friends met for the first time at her debut in the film 'Starter For 10' where the director participated as executive producer. They later worked together when the director offered the actress to participate in two productions, one in New York and another in London, and to be part of his theater company 'Bridge Project'.
