Laura Pausini Despite having been dating for almost two decades, the Italian singer managed to live her dream wedding discreetly, surprising everyone.
Now Laura Pausini, in addition to the countless awards she has won internationally, can show off a luxurious wedding ring.
It all started in 2005 when they met on one of her tours, since her current husband, Paolo Carta, was a talented guitarist hired to accompany her on her concerts.
At that time she had just broken up with her assistant Gabriele Parisi and Paolo had just separated from Rebecca Galli, with whom he had three children, Jader, Jacopo, and Joseph.
Laura has always been an eternal believer in love, as reflected in several of her most famous songs. Thanks to the example of her parents, she became obsessed with finding true love. Pausini published her first album when she was only 13 years old and at 18 she experienced her first major disappointment in love.
“I came home to surprise my partner and I took the surprise. The world fell over me. Until I faced it and saw it with my eyes, I didn't believe it,” she confessed in a TV program.
Thanks to that disappointment, she composed the song Solitude, the song with which she won the San Remo Festival, and which catapulted her to the top.
That failure in love, which contrasted with the successful career that she was beginning, cut very deep into the young Laura, and it took her a lot of work to trust men again.
Laura had a very romantic and rigid belief about what her partner should be like, and this caused her many problems in the field of love. No one was good enough, no one gave her the solidity that she saw in her parents, and she feared that she would never find true love.
But in 2005, everything changed. After a concert with her new band in Paris, Laura felt a real crush on the musicians' leader, Paolo Carta. The artist possessed all the attributes she was looking for in a man, but Paolo's past marriage made her doubt her.
“It took me a long time to accept this love, but it was too strong. “I never thought about replacing the mother of her children and I didn't want our story to hurt the children,” she explained. But still, she began to open up more to him and she understood that they were made for each other.
In 2012, Carta asked her to marry him, and just a week later Laura found out that she was expecting her daughter Paola, who was born in 2013.
“We decided to wait for her to bring us the rings,” the singer explained to a magazine about this first attempt at engagement.
Then, in 2021, they tried to go down the aisle again, but like so many other weddings, it was paralyzed by the pandemic.
“I am a big fan of numbers and my favorite is eight. We wanted to get married in the year that my daughter would have her birthday, in 2021. It coincided with the pandemic and we did not want a wedding with masks,” she revealed without knowing then that just at the age of eighteen, her dream wedding was finally going to happen.
In March 2023, Laura Pausini shared a message on her social networks that said: “May each of your promises be mine in health and in sickness, everything you want is already in front of us.”
With that message, the singer was announcing her dream wedding, which took all of her followers by surprise, but she was talking about how in love she is with her now husband.
In a later publication, the singer shared this beautiful postcard of the moment in which she showed off the elegant wedding dress that she had chosen.
The publication was accompanied by the text “We have said 'Yes'” written in English, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese, some of the languages in which Laura has sung.
As Laura wished, her daughter Paola was in charge of carrying the rings, and like good musicians they sang an emotional song at the ceremony.
“The promise that will unite us in health and in illness: everything that will give it meaning is in front of us,” said the lyrics of the song with which they finally closed 18 years of courtship.
