Jennifer Lee Pryor was twice married to the comedian and actor Richard Pryor, who died in 2005.
Now, the widow has confirmed the recent and controversial statements by music producer Quincy Jones, in which he assured that Pryor and the famous actor Marlon Brando were lovers during the 70s.
During an interview with New York Magazine, Quincy Jones talked about Marlon Brando's habits. That's when he included Richard Pryor's name. “He would F- anything. He would F- a mailbox. James Baldwin, Richard Pryor, Marvin Gaye…”, listed the producer.
Now it has been Pryor's own widow, Jennifer Lee, who has corroborated these claims. Speaking to TMZ, she claimed that the comedian, who was openly bis--ual, would be “pissed off” by the revelation of his relationship with Brando. “It was the 70s! The drugs were still very good. If he consumed enough cocaine, he would knock over a radiator and send her flowers in the morning,” she explained.
Jennifer Lee also confessed that Pryor had written extensively about his relationship in his journals. Some texts that, according to the widow, will be published this year on a date yet to be determined.
Richard Pryor died of a heart attack on December 10, 2005, although in his last years, he suffered from multiple sclerosis that forced him to retire from acting. During his 65 years of life, the comedian was married seven times to five different women. He and Jennifer Lee divorced after a year of marriage in 1982, but remarried in 2001 and remained together until the actor's death.
