Queen Elizabeth II's anger with Meghan Markle for wearing her and Lady Di's jewelry

The sovereign prohibited the Duchess of Sussex from wearing some of the most precious jewelry from her private collection, which Kate Middleton can wear.

Elizabeth II placed limits on Meghan Markle regarding some of the precious jewels of the British crown, particularly those of her husband's mother, Lady Di. However, Kate Middleton does have permission to wear whatever jewelry she wants. And she does it.

According to the tabloid The Sun, based on sources from the Royal Buckingham Palace, there is tension between the 37-year-old former American actress and the 92-year-old queen.

The aforementioned media indicated that certain priceless items from the monarch's private collection, which are lent at the discretion of His Majesty, are not at Markle's disposal.

For example, for her wedding, the Duchess of Sussex wanted to wear an emerald tiara, which the queen refused, advising her to wear a platinum tiara with a diamond.

The move reportedly came after the queen became upset by "Meghan's demanding behavior" ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry last year.

Buckingham Palace has applied the strict new rules to Markle in a bid to "maintain order, hierarchy and priority" within the royal family.

Elizabeth II lends her jewelry to members of the royal family for formal occasions and state visits, at her own discretion.

"It is true that Buckingham Palace did not want all the accessories in the Royal Collection to be opened to Meghan at this time. Obviously, Kate as the wife of the next king of England has them at her disposal," the insider added.

Among the prohibited items is the pearl tiara that Diana wore on the day of her wedding to Prince Charles in 1982, which her sister-in-law, on the other hand, wore elegantly at an event.

Daily Mail revealed that Prince Charles told the Duchess of Sussex not to wear a tiara to her first state dinner abroad, fearing it would look "extravagant."

The duchess had hoped to borrow a jeweled tiara from the Royal Collection for the event, but her father-in-law advised her to avoid such ostentation. "Markle didn't understand all of this because she was new to the role and Prince Charles told her it wouldn't be appropriate."

Although Isabel II would not be against her future mother, she wants to show her that there is a hierarchy that she must follow and that, for the moment, it is not her turn to wear these pieces.

"Although Meghan was the most popular woman in the world, she ranks lower than Kate in the family," palace sources point out. Therefore, Elizabeth II would not have been blinded by the Hollywood spotlight that Markle brought and she would simply be guided by the norms of royalty.
