It is no secret that the Montaners are one of the most recognized families in the world of Latin music. We know a lot about Ricardo and his children: what they do, their music, and a lot about their personal life. But not so much is known about Marlene Rodríguez, Ricardo's wife and his inspiring muse for more than 30 years. We heard it here recently in an interview, and now we know that it is not a satellite that revolves around the stars, but the sun itself under whose heat life is possible.
Ricardo Montaner and Marlene Rodríguez make up an iconic couple in the world of music and entertainment. Their love and complicity have been fundamental to the success and strength of their family. From the moment they met, a special connection was forged between them that transcended professional barriers and became a lasting love story.
Together they have faced the challenges and ups and downs of artistic life. Their unconditional togetherness is an inspiration to many. Without a doubt, they have left an indelible mark on music and on the history of solid and lasting relationships.
She is not always in focus, however, she seems to be the fundamental pillar of this clan, the backbone of it. In an interview that the family gave just a few days ago on the program Despierta América, her own children define her as “the matriarch of the clan.”
When she met Ricardo Montaner, she was directing music videos. In fact, she was the one who directed the singer's famous song “The Top of Heaven.” However, she left him because she claims “to have had enough of artists.” In reality, Marlene had always wanted to have many children and she considers that she “fell short” with the three children she had with Ricardo. That is why she feels that several more are children of the heart.
The producer has great affection for Alejandro and Héctor, the children of her husband's first marriage. Furthermore, she considers Cristóbal, a friend of her children, as part of her own family. Although she recognizes that the young man has his own mother, she feels a special connection with him and considers him as someone very close. In her own words: “He has his mother, and she is wonderful, but I feel that Cristóbal is someone very close to me, more than to anyone else.”
In the role of her mother, Marlene also welcomed Camilo as another son, even though he is actually her son-in-law. When she met him, she was fascinated because she saw him as very similar to her family: “The Montaners are not a traditional family at all, we are a little strange, and Cami has the same madness as us.”
Perhaps this fact is not as famous as all of them, but Marlene met Ricardo on the day of his first wedding. It turns out that her brother was the president of the record company with which the very famous singer worked. So Ricardo went to her party, ignoring that the woman he was getting married would soon be the love of her life.
The chemistry between them is so intense that it goes beyond a simple photo. You don't have to be a fan of the singer or any clan to see an image and know the type of love that exists between them. A love that the passage of time and all its consequences has not managed to erode even a little. It is difficult not to see them and think about the ideal couple: companion, fun, and accomplice.
When asked if the life of her, partner, and her family is perfect, Marlene's answer is a resounding no. “In no way, we have had very difficult, very difficult moments.”
Perhaps we could expect that when we ask her formula for the eternal validity of the Marlene-Montaner duo, she answers “romanticism”, “keep the flame alive” and other phrases considered typical in these cases. However, she surprises us with her answer: “loving others”, and without a doubt, she opens the game towards a horizon where there is room for much more than two.
