Sharon Stone reveals that because of her scenes in Basic Instinct, she lost custody of her son

Sharon Stone's well-known leg crossing in the film 'Basic Instinct' continues to make people talk thirty years after its release.

Sharon Stone reveals that because of her scenes in Basic Instinct, she lost custody of her son

The actress has denounced that because of that famous scene, and the rest of the much more risqué sequences that she starred in the film, she has had numerous personal problems throughout her life. Among them, as she has said, is the loss of custody of her son Roan.

Phil Bronstein took custody of the little boy

The actress adopted Roan in 2000 along with her then-husband Phil Bronstein. In 2004 the two separated, and it was he who got custody of the little boy. As Stone relates in an interview given to the 'Table for Two' podcast, the judge's decision was motivated, among other things, by her role in the aforementioned 1992 film.

"I lost custody of my son. The judge asked my son, my little one: 'Do you know that your mother makes movies?' Like a kind of abuse by the system, considering what kind of mother she was for having made that movie," reveals Sharon Stone, who acknowledges that this dealt her a hard blow.

Doesn't anyone have any idea how difficult it was to play that role?

"I was admitted to the Mayo Clinic with ventricular extrasystole in the upper and lower chambers of the heart. It broke my heart. It literally broke my heart," she confesses, while pointing out how everything has changed since then. "Now people walk around without clothes on television, but maybe you saw like one-sixteenth of a second of my possible nudity, and I lost custody of my son. Are you kidding me?" Stone criticizes.

On a professional level, they didn't make things easy for him either.

Aside from her problems with her ex-husband over their common child, the actress also affirms that on a professional level, they did not make things easy for her either. She gives the Golden Globes that year as an example, stating that her nomination only served to make people laugh at her.
