The Ozar actor had a "total breakdown" due to technical difficulties and ended up getting angry with the True Detective star, who took it all with humor.
Actor Jason Bateman told what the awkward moment was like when he tried to record a podcast with actor Matthew McConaughey.
The Ozark actor, who has a weekly podcast called “SmartLess” with Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, recalled the awkward moment he experienced two years ago. On Monday's episode, Arnett decided to remember the time Bateman had a "total breakdown" due to technical difficulties while recording the podcast with McConaughey a couple of years ago.
"It's not one of my proudest moments," admitted Bateman, who recalled that they had to suspend the talk with the True Detective actor.
Arnett then played audio of Bateman's reaction to the technical difficulties, prompting the actor to plead, "Oh no, please don't play it."
"I don't see it here on the sound, so let's cancel. Let's reschedule this. I'm having a meltdown," Bateman is heard saying in the audio. After hearing Bateman give up, McConaughey began laughing, which apparently irritated more to Bateman.
“Who the hell is laughing? Great, that's useful,” Bateman is heard saying in the audio without knowing that the mystery guest was McConaughey.
Despite the initial mishap, the trio finally managed to record with McConaughey on Monday's episode where they discussed the actor's new children's book, titled "Just Because." Elsewhere in the episode, McConaughey revealed the reason why he decided to stop dodging photographers. Explaining that he tried to be more mysterious for a “very short period,” the star said it became too much of a task. "I thought, 'Damn, this is too much work.' Look, I mean, I'm still measured about what I share," the actor said.
