One of the "bad guys" in the story of the young magician became one of the public's most beloved characters.
Thomas Andrew Felton, better known as Tom Felton, was born in England 36 years ago, but his name became world famous in 2001, with the release of the first Harry Potter film.
Something little known is that little Felton was cast to play both Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, although he was not successful. It was there that he was offered the role of the quasi-villain Draco Malfoy, a role that suited him very well.
Despite being recognized for the role of a selfish and evil person, the actor is very far from it. Friendly and kind, he has stated that he considers himself part of Gryffindor and is known for having several funny exchanges with fans online.
Tom Felton's life changed radically after the explosion of the film. And despite having shown absolute talent for acting, the truth is that his career has not been so close to the foreground.
Between the first and last Harry Potter films, of which he participated in all of them, to a greater or lesser extent, 10 years passed. Just finished that tremendous project, he had roles in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, as Dodge Landon, and in Message from the King, where he shared the screen with Chadwick Boseman.
However, he could not take on important leading roles. Whether due to having been encapsulated as a supporting actor or due to some lack of proposal that interests him, the truth is that for several years he lacked that experience.
Perhaps the clearest paradigm of Felton's career was one of his last roles to date: that of Laertes, Ophelia's brother in Claire McCarthy's film of the same name, based on Shakespeare's popular play, Hamlet.
