The actors starred in 'Edge of Tomorrow', another film for action fans, however, in the middle of filming a complicated situation arose in which the actors had to demonstrate all their professionalism.
During the filming of Edge of Tomorrow, Emily Blunt faced a kind of crisis that led her to tears and a small outburst with Tom Cruise. The actress recently recounted that her co-star scolded her during her time on set for having started crying.
In Edge of Tomorrow, the characters must wear special costumes that will help them win the battle against the alien invaders. It was in this context that Blunt feared her abilities to shoot the film, once she confirmed that her clothing as special soldiers was perhaps the greatest martyrdom she faced in her career.
"We had to don these massive suits, which, in my opinion, could have been better achieved with CGI, but we were committed to doing it practically," Blunt remarked. "When you hear the term 'practical,' you might imagine something convenient and comfortable, but these suits were anything but. They weighed in at approximately 40 kilograms each. They were exceptionally heavy."
During this challenging ordeal, the actress found herself briefly overwhelmed by panic, entertaining thoughts of giving up. The sheer weight of the suits pushed Blunt to the brink, a momentary crisis that contradicts the ethos of Tom Cruise, who is renowned for embracing the rigors of filmmaking.
"The first time I put one of those suits on, I couldn't hold back tears, and Cruise didn't quite know how to react," the actress recalled. "So I turned to Tom and said, 'I'm not certain I can continue with this movie,' tears streaming down my face, confessing my anxiety."
Blunt commented that at this response she could do nothing but laugh. And so she found motivation to continue with her work. In the end, everything turned out well because the actress sustained the role until the end and released it in theaters so that it became a success. Although she assured me that she faced very intense training.
Edge of Tomorrow tells the story of a Marine who trains a rookie to confront an alien race. In the film Emily Blunt's character is precisely that of a rude and tough general who must train Tom Cruise's character, who suffers from a strange condition that forces him to relive the same day over and over again.
It is not surprising that Tom Cruise has faced such heavy clothing and found it child's play. The actor is famous for taking on any physical and logistical challenge that will look phenomenal and realistic on screen.
