“My kids saved me, they kept me from going to darker places. Now I just want to live for them, my kids are better than me because you want them to be that way,” she said.
The Maleficent star also reflected on how her daily life changed drastically when her marriage to Brad Pitt ended. She confessed her personal struggle to rediscover her true identity after a decade in which she felt unauthentic.
“I’m still trying to figure out who I am at 48 years old. For ten years I didn’t feel like myself, but I don’t want to dwell on that too much… After everything I went through, I was hurt, and it was hard for me to be strong enough, I felt very vulnerable,” she said.
