We review the personal situation of Brad Pitt, now 59 years old, who is in a bloody legal battle with his former wife and with whom he has six children in common, Angelina Jolie.
For Brad Pitt, 2022 was a turbulent year. While he brought up to three films in which he appeared (The Lost City, Bullet Train, and Babylon) to theaters, his personal life made headlines in the media and not exactly with sugar-coated news. His legal battle and divorce with Angelina Jolie, the main focus of his controversies, have called into question the image that everyone has of him as Hollywood's golden boy (or the perfect son-in-law, depending on how you look at it) whom anyone would want to hire to a movie, have him in your advertising campaign or wait for him at the altar.
Unlike other stars, whose personal lives have taken a toll and pushed them into periods of ostracism, Pitt seems to be hanging on. While it is true that he has not had any movies on the bill this year (he has only appeared in one episode of the series Dave), we have just seen him starring in a luxury car advertisement and he has a couple of feature films projects underway, including the one in which he will play Sonny Hayes, a Formula 1 driver. At 59 years old, he is facing a difficult stage in his life, although a good part of his audience seems to look the other way.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met in 2005 during the filming of the movie Mr. and Mr. Smith and their romance was a real bomb: at that time, he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, who held the position of one of the girlfriends from America, and his infidelity was a shock. Surprisingly, Pitt's image was not tarnished too much, and that almost affected Jolie more, as she was drawn as a man-stealing harpy by many. Even so, they soon solidified their relationship and became one of the most desired, powerful, and envied couples in Hollywood, renowned as Brangelina.
Angelina came to the marriage with two children, Maddox Chivan and Zahara Marley, adopted from Cambodia and Ethiopia, whom Brad later also adopted. Later, they had a biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, and adopted Pax Thien from Vietnam and had a pair of biological twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, the youngest of the family who arrived in 2008. But happiness lasted until 2016, when Jolie filed for divorce, although it was not until last year that her reasons for doing so were revealed (of course, there was much speculation about whether she had repeated the infidelity move, although nothing was known).
In 2022, Brad Pitt accused his ex-wife of selling the stake they both had in the Château Miraval vineyard without her consent, trying, according to him, to intentionally inflict harm on her. From her side, Pitt was said to have treated Miraval "as her personal fiefdom" and excluded the other party from the business.
It was through this legal battle that the public was able to learn the reason for the couple's divorce. Allegedly, in 2016, while the family was flying from France to California, Brad Pitt would have starred in a violent episode, in which he would have grabbed one of his children by the neck and hit another in the face, while he would have grabbed him by the head and shook Jolie, in addition to throwing wine and beer at them. The children, according to this version, would have ended up crying and asking their father to stop. Jolie filed for divorce days later. Pitt has categorically denied these accusations, giving his version, as you can remember in the video above.
