The Hollywood actor was sympathetic to the insults that Tom Cruise gave to the production team of “Mission: Impossible 7” for not respecting anti-coronavirus measures.
On December 15, an audio of Tom Cruise was leaked in the middle of filming “Mission Impossible 7.” In the material, published by The Sun newspaper, the actor could be heard insulting members of the production team for not respecting the biosafety protocol.
The event unleashed several criticisms, but also supportive comments. Among the latter was George Clooney, who recently, while promoting his film “The Midnight Sky,” claimed to understand the reason why Cruise reacted that way.
The actor, as reported by the E! portal, expressed that he didn't consider his reaction as an overreaction, emphasizing the seriousness of the issue. He shared an anecdote about a friend, an advertising professional on a different TV program, who had experienced a very similar situation but received much less attention and action in response.
CLOONEY WOULD HAVE REACTED DIFFERENTLY
Clooney, however, specified that he would not have drawn attention to his team in that way. “I wouldn't have made it that big. He wouldn't have taken the people out. You are in a position of power and it is complicated, right? “He indicated.
However, he stressed that as a producer he understands that Cruise was exposed to responsibility for everyone else. “And he is absolutely right about that. And you know, if production goes down, many people lose their jobs,” he said.
“I understand why he did it. He's not wrong about that at all. “You know, I don’t know if he would have done it so personally, but I don’t know all the circumstances,” he added.
As a reminder, Tom Cruise issued a stern warning about firing two crew members who failed to adhere to social distancing protocols during filming. He emphatically declared, "If I witness a repeat of this behavior, they will face serious consequences and be dismissed. I have zero tolerance for it – absolutely none!" The Hollywood star's voice rang out with determination.
