Salma Hayek, the renowned Mexican actress, recently shared disturbing revelations about the relentless harassment she endured at the hands of the influential Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein.
During an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show, the Latina star exposed the extent of Weinstein's threats, including a chilling promise to shatter her knees.
Hayek described the traumatic experience of working on a film produced by Weinstein, which left her in a constant state of anxiety and paranoia. "I lived in perpetual fear. I desperately sought an escape, but it remained elusive," she confessed.
Additionally, the actress alleged that Weinstein went to the extremes of threatening her life and coercing her into participating in a vulnerable, explicit scene with a fellow female co-star.
Furthermore, Hayek admitted to harboring deep regret for not coming forward earlier to expose the producer's misconduct.
When reporters from the New York Times initially approached her to share her story during the initial wave of allegations against Weinstein, a movement led by numerous brave women, she found herself overwhelmed with emotions.
"Tears welled up as the proposition was made, yet I ultimately couldn't bring myself to do it. I felt profound shame for my cowardice. For over two decades, I had stood in solidarity with other women, but I couldn't find the strength... I couldn't shake the thoughts of my daughter," she revealed.
