A surprising incident unfolded in the early hours of a Sunday morning at the renowned "Patagonia Sur" restaurant in La Boca, Buenos Aires, when Margot Robbie, the celebrated Australian actress, found herself at the center of a disturbance.
The commotion escalated when her security team reportedly assaulted a photographer who had taken unauthorized photographs. Robbie was accompanied by her friend, the British actress and model Cara Delevingne, at the time.
The altercation erupted around 1 a.m., during an outing to the exclusive "Patagonia Sur" restaurant, known for its discreet and hidden location in La Boca. The photographer, identified as Pedro Alberto Orquera, had captured candid images of Margot Robbie and Cara Delevingne without their consent. In response, Robbie's bodyguards, Jac Rhis Hopkins and Josei Mac Namara Callum, allegedly resorted to physical violence, injuring Orquera in the process.
Local residents, alarmed by the violence unfolding on public streets, promptly dialed 911 to alert authorities. Officers from the 4C Neighborhood Police Station arrived at the scene, situated at the intersection of Rocha Street and Pedro de Mendoza Avenue, to assess the situation.
There, they encountered the injured photojournalist, Pedro Alberto Orquera, who had sustained a broken arm and a head wound that was bleeding. Orquera was immediately transported to Argerich Hospital, where medical evaluations confirmed multiple traumas to his right arm and neck. He currently remains sedated while awaiting surgery for an elbow fracture.
The two security personnel involved in the incident, Jac Rhis Hopkins and Josei Mac Namara Callum, were reported for causing "serious injuries" and were subsequently apprehended under orders from the Flagrancia Sur Unit, which is being overseen by Assistant Prosecutor Catalina Neme.
Margot Robbie's Prior Visit to Buenos Aires
It's worth noting that this is not Margot Robbie's first visit to Buenos Aires. In late 2013, during the months of November and December, the city played host to the filming of "Focus," a movie directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, starring Margot Robbie alongside Will Smith. The film's plot revolves around Nicky (Smith), a seasoned con artist, who recruits Jess (Robbie), a novice in the trade, to his team. Complications arise when they fall in love, leading to an abrupt breakup by Nicky. Three years later, their paths cross again in Buenos Aires.
During that time, both the North American actor and the Australian actress were frequently spotted on the streets of San Telmo, as well as various iconic Buenos Aires locations, including the Círculo Militar, Recoleta, and Retiro. Their presence added a touch of glamour to the vibrant streets of Buenos Aires, marking a memorable chapter in the city's cinematic history.
