The actor is fighting frontotemporal dementia and his situation is becoming more complex every day, making it difficult for him and everyone around him.
It has been more than a year since Bruce Willis and his family made the world aware of the sad condition that the actor was suffering from and that kept him away from acting forever.
This happened after being diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder that leads to being unable to communicate through speech, writing or mimicry and is due to a brain injury. Some time later, in March of this year, the actor's situation changed.
Bruce Willis' family revealed that the diagnosis changed and that what the Die Hard star actually suffered from was frontotemporal dementia.
"Unfortunately, the difficulties communicating were just a symptom of the illness Bruce faces. Although this is painful, it is also a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis," said the statement shared by his daughters and his ex-wife, Demi Moore.
It is known that the disease that Bruce Willis suffers from is progressive and that as time goes by his stage becomes more complicated. In the last few hours it was learned that the situation had reached the point of ignoring one of the most important women in his life, Demi Moore, the mother of his three oldest daughters.
"His memory of her faded. Demi realized he didn't really recognize her, she is devastated. She had no idea he had fallen so far," a source revealed to Closer Weekly.
