Susanna Hoffs enjoys eternal beauty in Hollywood

The interpreter of hits like "Eternal Flame" captivated social networks with a simple tweet that reached more than 38 thousand "likes" and as many thousands of replicas.

"Susanna Hoffs, vocalist and co-founder of The Bangles, 62 years old," were the words of the tweet that went viral, accompanied by photographs of her on stage, with a guitar in hand, during a concert at a music festival in 2014.

The impact of the images she shared was such that the singer of hits like "Walking Like an Egyptian" and "Manic Monday" resurfaced in the public opinion due to her apparent refusal to age.

Over the last week, Internet users have commented on the timeless appearance of the singer, who continues to sport a smooth complexion as radiant as she did in her youth.

"If Susanna Hoffs and Paul Rudd had a child, would she ever grow old herself?" one user joked in the reply thread that accompanies the viral tweet.

"Does he have a portrait (Dorian Gray style) kept in a closet?" asks another, and a third recognizes a "teenage crush" that has lasted for more than 30 years.

The truth is that her s-x appeal led her to be included by magazines like Complex in one of their lists of the 20 most attractive singers in the history of music.

Despite the admiration aroused by her physique, the Californian has denounced the "fixation on youth" as a problem to be eradicated in American culture.

"I often talk to friends my own age about how it seems like we have an expiration date etched on our foreheads. When we pass our forties or fifties it's like we become invisible.

"I feel relieved to have passed fifty, I am really enjoying this moment in my life," she shared then, giving as an example the French actress Catherine Deneuve as an icon of "vital and s--y" maturity.

Beyond her genes and her background as a ballet dancer, the leader of the popular 80s band The Bangles has said that the key is healthy and conscious eating.

In addition to having a job that allows her to remain active, like the one she does: "Giving a concert is not just singing, but all the movement and energy on stage." And take long daily walks for her mental and physical balance.

"I often tell my friends that the best diet is to have a good audiobook that you can only listen to while you walk or exercise."

Last July 4, American Independence Day, Susanna Hoffs livened up the traditional fireworks on CNN with a commemorative concert in which she displayed her entire repertoire of classics.

The Bangles became the most successful female group in US music to date, only behind The Supremes.

The line-up consisted of Susanna Hoffs (vocals), sisters Vickie (guitar) and Debbie (drums) Petterson and Michael Steele (bass).

They announced their dissolution in 1989, a few months after achieving their greatest professional triumph with Eternal Flame due to the alleged war of egos that arose due to Hoffs' increasing prominence.

After Hoffs' solo career failed to take off, they returned to recording and touring together nine years later.

Since then, they have released sporadic singles, a couple of albums and given different concerts.
