The American singer and songwriter Adam Noah Levine was born on March 18, 1979 in Los Angeles, California, and is known worldwide for being the vocalist of the band Maroon 5. While since 2011 he has been one of the artists that makes up the panel of jurors of the talent show The Voice.
1. Levine had his first kiss at age 11 from a girl named Kattie. The singer admitted that they were walking after dinner at a camp where they were both and the girl was the one who approached him first and he got scared.
2. He has Jewish ancestry on both sides of his family, his father and his maternal grandfather were Jewish. However, according to The Jewish Chronicle, which interviewed Levine, he claimed not to have had a Bar Mitzvah when he was a child, and stated that he "has rejected formal religious practice to have a more general and spiritual life."
3. He has known actors Jason Segel and Jake Gyllenhaal since they were in preschool.
4. He is a big fan of yoga and takes his instructor on every tour he goes on with the band to help him practice. He does yoga every time he goes on stage, and claims he took up this practice after breaking his collarbone while lifting weights.
5. His musical career began in 1994 when he co-founded the little-known alternative rock band Kara's Flowers, of which he was lead vocalist and guitarist.
6. In 1997 they released their first album titled Fourth World under that name, when they were still studying their last year of high school.
7. That same year the band appeared in an episode of the series Beverly Hills 90210 performing at the Peach Pit After Dark club.
8. Adam worked as a writer's assistant for the show Judging Army. This was before his music career took off because at that time he had no idea he would go this far.
9. He was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) when he was a child. Armed with this, he has held talks to help others deal with the symptoms and uses medication to help himself cope with the symptoms.
10. Adam writes and draws with his left hand. When it comes to playing the guitar, he does it with his right hand.
