The ex-wife of Britney Spears' former paparazzo boyfriend is now expressing gratitude, claiming that the pop singer played a significant role in the demise of her marriage in 2008.
Lin Berry, an alignment coach and embodiment guide based in Los Angeles, was married to paparazzo Adan Caled from 2003 to 2008. Caled met Spears in 2007 when she sought refuge in his car to escape aggressive paparazzi. Their unlikely month-long romance became the catalyst for the end of Berry's marriage.
In an interview with US Weekly, Berry shared her unconventional perspective on the situation, stating, "I'm so eternally grateful that, for whatever reason, this unbelievable person walked into my husband's life and removed him from mine." Despite the unconventional circumstances surrounding their relationship, Berry emphasized her gratitude for Spears, asserting that the pop star's presence ended what she described as a toxic relationship. She even admitted, "I know for a fact that I would have killed myself if I stayed in a toxic relationship."
Britney Spears, in her 2023 memoir "The Woman in Me," claimed she had no knowledge of Caled's marital status when they started dating, seemingly supporting Berry's account. According to Berry, Caled had a history of dishonesty about his relationship status, and even Spears' father, Jamie Spears, attempted to reveal the truth about Caled's identity to her, albeit unsuccessfully. Berry explained that, given the choice between listening to someone who stripped away her identity and a charismatic individual treating her with kindness, she chose the latter.
The Grammy winner's relationship with Caled began shortly after her infamous head-shaving incident and attack on a car with an umbrella. The pair eventually broke up after Spears allegedly discovered evidence that Caled planned to purchase a pregnancy test for publicity. Berry filed for legal separation on January 18th, 2008. Page Six reached out to Britney's team for comment on Berry's interview, but no response was immediately received.
Following her split from Caled, Spears went on to date her former manager Jason Trewick, with whom she got engaged in 2011 before breaking up in 2013. Subsequent relationships included lawyer David Lucato for a year and Charlie Ebersol, son of Saturday Night Live co-creator Dick Ebersol, for a few months in 2016.
