Renowned actress Dakota Johnson, known for her candid discussions on mental health, recently addressed and corrected statements she made about her sleeping habits.
During the promotion of her upcoming film, Madame Web, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson clarified her earlier remarks that sparked controversy. Having been open about her experiences with anxiety and depression, Johnson faced criticism a few weeks ago for expressing the need to sleep between 10 and 14 hours.
She emphasized the importance of sleep, calling it her "number one priority" and revealing that she lacked a "usual time" to wake up, stating that she didn't function well with less than 10 hours of sleep.
During a recent interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Johnson revisited the topic, addressing the headlines and criticism surrounding her previous statements. Fallon remarked on the extended sleep duration, to which Johnson responded with a laugh, saying, "No. I said I could easily sleep 14 hours. But I don't like to demand it. I'm not a monster."
The conversation continued, and Johnson clarified that she didn't express herself in the way the headlines suggested. Fallon playfully mentioned that sleeping for 14 hours would be fantastic. Johnson also addressed speculation about using sleep aids, stating, "I don't have to take anything to sleep like this either. I can just sleep like this. I think if I took a desante, I would wake up next year."
While promoting Madame Web, where she portrays Cassandra Webb, Johnson highlighted the film's impact on the superhero genre from a "female perspective." As the release date approaches in February, Dakota Johnson remains engaged in promoting the project and eagerly awaits its debut.
