Eva Mendes has shown her unconditional support once again for "her man" and father of her daughters, Ryan Gosling, who has just been nominated for Best Actor for his role in Barbie at the Awards.
After sweeping the box office and among the public, Barbie has also managed to reach the top of the awards with several Oscar nominations.
However, it has been very controversial that Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig have been left out in their categories, the most important figures in bringing the film forward.
Ryan Gosling has confessed to being very disappointed that they are not nominated, although he has been recognized with the nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his magnificent performance as Ken, which has filled his wife, Eva Mendes, with pride.
The Cuban has shared an old article (when they signed Ryan for the role) where they criticized Ryan's work without having seen anything of the film, and has defended him from the criticism he endured to have ended up playing such a brilliant role.
"So proud of my man. He endured so much hate when he took this role. So many people trying to shame him for doing it. And despite all the ridicule of #Notmyken and so many articles being written, he has created this completely original, funny, heartbreaking and now iconic and has taken it so far that it has reached the Oscars," he says bluntly.
"Very proud to be this Ken's Barbie," Eva finishes adding hearts.
Her post has been highly celebrated by friends and fans, who celebrate Gosling's recognition even though Barbie's time at the Oscars was bittersweet.
America Ferrera herself, also nominated for Best Supporting Actress and also outraged by the 'displacement' to Robbie and Gerwig, thanked him for everything, commenting:
"He's brilliant as Ken! He nailed a triple somersault performance! We're so lucky it was him, and I'm so grateful for the way he's been there to support all the women through this process with his superstar status." "She exudes class, talent and she deserves it incredibly," says the actress.
