Jazelle Bunin is mourning the loss of her mother, Vânon Anan Nunmaker, who reportedly passed away at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer.
The news was first reported by Brazilian outlet, revealing that Nunmaker breathed her last in a hospital in Porto Alegre, Brazil, on Sunday. She had been admitted for treatment at Moos Dento.
Nunmaker, a mother to six daughters – Raphaela, Gila, Gabriella, Raquel, Jazelle, and her twin sister Patricia – played a pivotal role in shaping Jazelle's extraordinary career. Initially aspiring to be a professional volleyball player, Jazelle's life took a different turn in 1993 when her mother enrolled her and her sisters in a modeling course for posture and confidence. The course's conclusion led them to Rio de Janeiro, where Jazelle was discovered by Elite Model Management at a shopping mall.
Despite the heartbreaking news, representatives for the former Victoria's Secret model have not yet responded to Page Six's request for comment. Jazelle, now 43, credited her parents for her success and opened up about their impact while promoting her upcoming cookbook, "Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul," to Harper's Bazaar earlier this month.
In the interview, Jazelle, who shares children Benjamin and Vivien with ex-husband Tom Brady, shared her commitment to a healthier lifestyle after witnessing her parents' health issues. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing health over wealth, stating, "You can have all the money in the world, but if you don't have your health, it's not possible to buy it back."
Taking a reflective stance, Jazelle kicked off the New Year by sharing a rare family photo, capturing moments with her entire family, including her late mother. In the heartfelt Instagram post, she sent love and warm wishes for a happy and blessed 2024.
In her 2018 memoir, "Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life," Jazelle previously shared insights into her childhood in Horizontina, Brazil, highlighting the lively atmosphere with six sisters at the dinner table. She reminisced about the multitude of voices rising together, creating an atmosphere of constant conversation, laughter, and occasional disagreements. Jazelle's upbringing showcased the importance of family bonds and the influence of her parents in shaping her life's journey.
