The couple's wedding took place at Westminster Abbey more than a decade ago; moments later at Buckingham Palace they starred in an image that spread around the world.
Prince William and Kate Middleton married more than ten years ago in Westminster Abbey, but the details of that special day still melt the hearts of royal fans.
A few months before the wedding, William asked Kate the key question and in April 2011 they stood at the altar with their vows and later stood on the balcony to wave to the cheering crowd. They say that when Kate saw the number of people waiting for them below she exclaimed: “Wowwww.”
Those thousands of supporters who had gathered to witness the historic milestone soon let them know what they expected to see as they shouted loudly: “Kiss her, kiss her.” William waited a few minutes to enjoy the moment before turning to Kate and cheekily saying, “Go ahead, a little kiss, go ahead.”
The kiss was modest and quick, but the crowd went crazy and celebrated the gesture.
Faced with that scene straight out of a romantic movie, William couldn't help but contain his love and turned to Kate again and said: “Let's give them another one. I love you. One more kiss, one more kiss. Alright?".
The cheers seemed to be too much for one of the little bridesmaids who covered her ears, while William's godfather and brother, Prince Harry, was seen very complicit with his grandfather, Prince Philip.
A lip reader previously revealed what Harry whispered to William as Kate walked down the hallway. He stuck to tradition and avoided looking at his future wife until she caught up with him at the altar, but his brother, on the other hand, couldn't help but glance over.
Royal author Marcia Moody revealed the sweet conversation the couple had in her 2013 novel Kate: A Biography. In the book, she wrote: “Harry looked back as Kate began to walk down the hallway and informed her brother, 'Okay, she's here now.' Harry then said 'well, I can tell you that she looks beautiful.'”
The biography also reveals what William said to Kate when they were married and were still at the altar, before the eyes of all those present and the millions of viewers who followed the ceremony around the world. "The couple looked at each other and William whispered to Kate 'you look beautiful,'" said the author of the novel.
