The Top Gun: Maverick actor shined before the British presenter, demonstrating that his flying skills are beyond what everyone imagines.
The long-awaited sequel to Tony Scott's 1986 film has generated enormous hype, whether due to the return of characters from the original story to the prolonged ovation that the film received at its screening at the Cannes Festival. Ahead of its premiere comes an interview with Tom Cruise where it is shown that what he does in the cockpit of an airplane is not posing, the actor knows how to pilot.
The Late Late Show with James Corden put its full imprint on the interview with Cruise. Corden begins the video by commenting that he was summoned by Cruise himself to wait for him on a landing strip.
While the British presenter and actor was speaking, Cruise appears behind at the helm of a private jet. Then they both get on the plane and take flight to a test airport, at which point Tom tells the presenter that he should get ready because they are going to fly in a World War II plane, piloted by the Top Gun actor.
This is not the first time that Tom takes Corden to the extreme, previously with the promotion of Mission: Impossible, the actor made Corden skydive.
The acrobatic flight begins and most of the words Corden can say are censored with the famous beep. After some somersaults, the pilot and co-pilot return to the ground to imitate one of the most iconic scenes from Top Gun, the beach volleyball match.
Just when Corden thought the torture of speed and stunts was over, Cruise doubles down by demonstrating his ability to pilot a Fighter Jet. High-speed spins, G-force pressure and more take place in the cockpit as Tom and James sing the iconic Top Gun song, Danger Zone.
Although it was known that Tom has a flight license, it was totally unknown that the actor knew about Fighter Jets. Recently, during the promotion of Top Gun: Maverick, it was revealed that Cruise piloted several of the planes used in the film, including fighters. This once again proves that the actor's abilities are beyond comprehension.
