Josh Hartnett shocks with his public reappearance years after leaving Hollywood

Josh Hartnett achieved international fame with the 2001 release of Pearl Harbor. This film was the one that put the actor on the cusp of becoming a potential star, but he decided to follow another path.

He already confessed at the time that he even had the opportunity to play Superman and Batman, but he rejected it. Since he retired from public life, he has continued to participate in series and films, but always away from the media spotlight.

Currently he lives in England with his wife and his three children and does not participate in the events organized in Hollywood. Therefore, he has now been very surprised by his public reappearance at the SAG Awards. In fact, it was his first time attending this gala.

Hartnett has walked the red carpet like the rest of the actors because he was nominated along with the rest of Oppenheimer's cast in the category of Best Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He plays the late Nobel-winning nuclear physicist Ernest Lawrence in the film. Wearing a black tuxedo accompanied by a black brooch, the actor appeared smiling at this awards ceremony held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.

Josh already explained on an Australian television show in 2021, The Project, what the reason for his departure was: "The most important thing for me is that I really enjoy making movies, but the industry itself was overwhelming for a 21-year-old boy. There were paparazzi on every corner, you couldn't go anywhere without being harassed. And I decided I didn't need that in my life, and I could still make movies and live outside of it."

It focused on independent movies and shows like Penny Dreadful or Black Mirror. Oppenheimer had to arrive and be nominated for four SAG Awards for the actor to reappear and dare to walk a red carpet. Furthermore, Hartnett and the rest of the cast are in luck because Christopher Nolan's film has finally won the award for Best Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
