The chosen name, American Riviera Orchard, is believed to pay homage to a residence in Santa Barbara, California, renowned as the American Riviera due to its climate and scenic beauty. However, not everyone was impressed.

Despite Megan's efforts to promote the brand with a post on its Instagram page, critics found the name disconcerting. The brand's bio, penned by Megan herself, proudly states its establishment in 2024. Additionally, a dedicated website for the brand features a logo with the word "monito" inscribed underneath. 

Reports from Page Six indicate that the brand will concentrate on various lifestyle aspects including home, gardening, food, and general lifestyle content. However, some individuals expressed skepticism regarding Megan's naming abilities, citing the name "American Riviera Orchard" as excessively lengthy and lacking appeal.

Moreover, detractors pointed out the apparent extravagance depicted in the promotional video, where Megan roams a $14 million mansion in an elegant gown. Such opulence, they argued, contradicts the notion of accessibility and relatability. Comparisons were drawn to Blake Lively's short-lived venture, Preserve, which ceased operations after just a year. Confusion loomed among potential consumers, with one user questioning the brand's identity, whether it's a hotel, a wine label, a restaurant, or a fashion label. The name, "American Riviera Orchard," was deemed perplexing and uninformative.

Criticism escalated as users dissected the geographical implications of the chosen name. Some found fault with Megan's use of "American Riviera," arguing that it inaccurately represented the vastness of the Americas and minimized the significance of other regions with coastal areas. Others contended that Santa Barbara's designation as the "California Riviera" was more appropriate.
