Johnny Depp is back in the headlines, although this time for nothing related to controversies about Amber Heard, health problems, or accusations like the one recently made about his alleged bad behavior with an actress.
The actor premiered Jeanne du Barry during the 2023 Cannes edition, his return to cinemas, and now this film is being presented in the United Kingdom. During his promotion, Depp has reappeared smiling, drawing attention to his physical change and well-groomed appearance, since a year ago the reality was that his health was a concern.
On the occasion of the premiere of Maïwenn's film, the interpreter gave an interview to Metro in which he reflected on the weight of fame in Hollywood and how it affected him when, being so young, he was recognized worldwide.
And, in addition to that, as Depp himself has said, he has a strange personality that collided with this world.
"I've been very lucky and I can't complain about anything. None of that. I won't," he said, adding that fame does strange things when it "hits you." "You can't go anywhere without people staring at you. And that's a very interesting way to grow up. But after 38 years of something like that..." he continued.
"What's really crazy is to expect someone who has lived in that kind of situation to be even remotely close to normal," he said. "Now, to make matters worse, before that I wasn't normal. Now, at 60 years old, he returns to the cinema renewed although not without surprise since he indicated that it seemed strange to him that they did not want to have a French actor for the role of Louis XV.
Of course, if it is finally confirmed that he returns to the ring, he will not do it for the big Hollywood production companies, which "threw him away."
"They are disposable and they realize it. Glorified accountants who have the ability to press a button and make studio movies, spending a lot of money. The budgets are ridiculous for these movies like some romantic comedy with two very popular characters. People, Real people are tired of this," he said.
