Prince Harry is reportedly planning to return to the UK for at least a week in May.
He's scheduled to fly over for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games at St. Paul's Cathedral. However, it remains uncertain whether Meghan will accompany him. The service is set for May 8th, just two days after their son Archie's fifth birthday. Whether Archie and his little sister Lilette will join their father is also unknown.
According to an insider, Prince Harry intends to travel to the UK on May 7th and stay in a secret location, hoping to spend some quality time with his extended family before returning to California.
Sources reveal that Harry and Meghan are planning a fifth birthday party for Archie at their Montecito home on May 6th, followed by Harry's departure to the UK on a private jet the next day. He is eager to attend the anniversary service and spend a few extra days in the UK so that the children can meet Harry's family members.
The Duke of Sussex is particularly keen on reuniting with his family, especially after learning of King Charles and Princess Kate's battles with cancer. Harry wishes for Archie and Lilette to forge stronger bonds with their cousins and the children of his friends. He feels they've been away from the UK for too long and desires to establish a second home there, where they can visit regularly.
However, insiders suggest that Meghan is hesitant to let her children accompany Harry. She may consider it only if Harry agrees to host another birthday party for Archie at a Royal Family Estate. While it's speculated as a potential PR stunt, the likelihood of it happening seems slim. Furthermore, the idea of spending more time in Britain might be challenging for Meghan, who understandably wishes to avoid an anxiety-inducing visit to a place where she feels unwelcome.
Her last visit to the UK was in September 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. Although Meghan and Harry returned for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022, their reception was less than warm. Crowds booed as they left St. Paul's Cathedral after attending a national service of Thanksgiving, their first joint public appearance with the royal family in two years.
Megan opted not to join Harry during his subsequent visit in May 2023 for King Charles's coronation, reportedly due to fears of facing public hostility once again. Notably, the couple no longer has a home in the UK, having been evicted from Frogmore Cottage, which was a wedding gift from the Queen. King Charles issued them an eviction notice in January of the previous year. In June 2023, Harry and Meghan returned the keys and relocated their remaining belongings to their new home in California. Reports suggested that if they wished to stay in any Royal homes in the future, they would need to negotiate a private agreement with the King.
