King Charles rejected the idea of meeting Prince Harry face-to-face, citing his packed schedule.
Shortly after, in a significant move, the king announced that Prince William would take over leadership of Harry's former helicopter regiment next week. Buckingham Palace also disclosed that Prince William and his father would attend a joint engagement where William would be made the colonel and chief of the Army Air Corps.
Prior to Harry's decision to step back from Royal life four years ago, there was always speculation that he would assume the role overseeing the regiment he had toured Afghanistan with until 2014. The revelation that the king would transfer this position, which he held for 31 years, to his eldest son occurred just hours after he stated his inability to meet with his youngest son. "Timing is everything," remarked Roland Snyder, with others adding that the Monarch's decision not to meet Harry during his brief UK visit, despite their close proximity, would be widely interpreted as a snub.
According to a new report, some Royal experts believe Harry needs William for balance in his life. Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burl, even suggested that Harry might be holding onto hope that his brother will initiate the healing process between them over their ongoing feud once he ascends to the throne. Burl explained, "I think that Harry might be holding out hope for when William becomes king. Harry believed there would be a new chapter and a place for him, but by then, he might be so estranged that the public barely recognizes him."
Now residing in America, Harry always has the option of returning to the States to share insights, a prospect not favored by William, who values privacy and stability. Reportedly, King Charles and Prince William are aligned in their stance on Harry's potential return to part-time Royal duties. They firmly believe Harry cannot resume a working Royal role. The Future King, Prince William, has categorically rejected the notion of Harry rejoining the Royal Family on a temporary basis. A source close to William stated, "There's a 0% chance Harry's coming back in any capacity. If anyone's going to take on more duties, it'll be William, but that's not even on the agenda for now."
The strained relationship between Harry and Prince William persists, with sources indicating that they are still not on speaking terms. According to insiders, the siblings haven't engaged in a substantive conversation for months.
