The Duke of Westminster and Olivia Henson were married in what has been dubbed the society wedding of the year at Chester Cathedral.
The ceremony saw Prince William acting as an usher and Princess Eugenie among the distinguished guests. The Duke, affectionately known as Hugh to his aristocratic friends, shared a kiss with his bride, Olivia Henson, following the ceremony. Prince William, who served as an usher, was seen smiling with his friend William van Cutsem as they exited Chester Cathedral.
The event marked the nuptials of Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, who is estimated to be worth £10.42 billion, making him the wealthiest man under 40 in Britain. Notably, Hugh is the godfather to Prince George, son of Prince William, and Archie, son of Prince Harry. Although William played a significant role in the service attended by around 400 guests, Prince Harry remained in California.
Olivia Henson looked radiant in her wedding dress and blue shoes as she arrived at the 11th-century cathedral shortly before midday. Her bespoke gown and veil featured hand-drawn embroidery by Emma Victoria Payne, showcasing floral motifs and edges inspired by Olivia's great-great-grandmother's veil from around 1880. Olivia wore the Fab Myrtle Leaf Tiara, a family heirloom created in 1906 for Grosvenor brides. Her bouquet consisted of flowers picked from the gardens of Eaton Hall, the Duke’s family residence.
Princess Eugenie was among the many notable guests attending the event. However, the Princess of Wales, who has been in the spotlight due to undergoing preventative chemotherapy, was not expected to attend.
