In a recent appearance, Kate Hudson has revealed surprising details about her iconic Hollywood co-star, Matthew McConaughey, and addresses long-standing rumors about her personal hygiene.
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are renowned actors in Hollywood, recognized for their on-screen chemistry, especially in the 2003 romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Five years later, they worked together again in Like Crazy... for Gold, a film that cemented their reputation as a dynamic duo in the romantic genre.
However, during the filming of the latter, rumors surfaced that Hudson had forced McConaughey to wear deodorant due to her dislike of her poor personal hygiene.
Recently, in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the actress put an end to speculation that she forced her co-star, Matthew McConaughey, to wear deodorant while filming the romantic comedy.
When Hudson was asked about the famous rumors, she was blunt in her response about the Interstellar star's use of deodorant: "No! No, he doesn't use deodorant. And, by the way, neither do I."
In 2021, the Oscar-winning actor revealed to Maxim that he hadn't used deodorant in decades. "I never used it. No cologne, no deodorant. Women in my life, including my mother, have told me, 'Hey, your natural scent smells, one, like a man, and two, it smells like you.'"
Hudson has continued to speak and reflect on her collaboration with McConaughey: "What happened to me was that I could smell it from a mile away because we were so close. We are 'eau naturale.'"
Her anecdote highlights the closeness and chemistry between both actors, underscoring that authenticity and personal comfort were an integral part of her collaborations on the big screen.
