David Beckham reunited with Prince William for a special outing, supporting the Prince during a significant event at RAF Northolt.
The occasion marked the conclusion of the London Air Ambulance's "Up Against Time" appeal, which successfully raised £16 million to fund two new helicopters. The former England football star and the Duke of Cambridge were all smiles as they greeted each other at the event in West London, even taking a moment to sign one of the new helicopters.
Prince William had personally asked David Beckham to be part of the appeal's campaign, known as the OM campaign, which played a crucial role in raising £4 million for the cause. The fundraising initiative was launched in 2021 after it became evident that the London Air Ambulance’s MD902 helicopters, which were critical for emergency medical services, would soon be decommissioned. This situation posed a serious threat to the service’s ability to provide life-saving interventions to thousands of patients annually.
The two new H135 helicopters, made possible by the funds raised through the campaign, will allow the London Air Ambulance to continue its essential work, delivering vital emergency medical care across the city. These upgraded aircraft are a key part of ensuring that the service can remain operational and responsive to medical emergencies, safeguarding the well-being of Londoners for years to come.
