Princess Beatrice is expecting her second child with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
The joyful news was shared with the public on Tuesday afternoon, with Beatrice's due date set for early spring. The couple, who already share their daughter, Sienna, aged 3, are also raising Edoardo's son, Christopher "Wolfie" Woolf, who is 8 years old. In an official statement released by Buckingham Palace, it was announced, "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are thrilled to confirm that they are expecting their second child together, due in early spring.
The new baby will be a sibling for Wolfie, aged 8, and Sienna, aged 3." His Majesty the King has been informed of the news, and both families are overjoyed by the announcement. To mark this special occasion, two new family photographs were shared with the public. In one of the photos, young Sienna is pictured from behind as she strolls down a country lane, holding hands with her father and big brother, Wolfie. Sienna, with her blonde hair tied back in a red bow, is dressed for adventure in bright yellow wellington boots and a blue waterproof suit decorated with playful cloud and bird motifs. The second image captures a beaming Princess Beatrice, dressed warmly in a black puffer jacket, smiling happily at the camera. She is embraced by Edoardo, who gazes lovingly at his wife, clearly overjoyed by the prospect of their growing family.
The statement released by Buckingham Palace also confirmed that the King had been informed of the couple’s exciting news and that both the royal family and the Mozzi family are delighted. Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, will soon welcome the York family's fourth grandchild. Although the new baby will not hold the title of His or Her Royal Highness (HRH), they will be 11th in line to the British throne, with Beatrice's younger sister, Princess Eugenie, moving down to 12th place. This child will also be the 14th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the second great-grandchild to be born since the Queen’s passing in 2022. The first was Princess Eugenie’s son, Ernest, who was born last year.
