It appears Meghan Markle has begun to adjust to a more traditional role alongside Prince Harry, albeit reluctantly.
Sources suggest that Meghan, who has often been seen as a strong, independent figure, may be re-evaluating her position within the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s public image. Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield recently discussed this shift in Meghan's demeanor, especially noticeable during her recent video address on combating online violence against children. In an analysis aired on ITV, Schofield commented on Meghan’s subdued body language and seemingly diminished presence.
Schofield observed, “Watching that video, didn’t it feel as though Meghan was reluctantly stepping back, giving Harry the lead and letting him hold the spotlight?”
Schofield speculated that this adjustment might be guided by the couple’s publicity team. She suggested, “Maybe their publicist advised them that people didn’t like the perception that Meghan ‘wore the pants’ in the relationship. They want to emphasize that they’re the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as a unified team.”
Kevin O’Sullivan, the show’s host, added his perspective on the matter, noting a change in Meghan’s language and tone. He remarked that Meghan has started to use expressions reminiscent of the late Queen, such as the phrase “my husband and I,” which was often seen as an iconic, if somewhat formal, expression of marital unity. “It’s ironic,” O’Sullivan noted, “that Meghan, who was seen as such a progressive force, is now using language that aligns her with a more traditional, secondary role. It almost feels as though she’s being cast as the ‘little wife’ while Prince Harry takes the lead.”
These shifts have sparked conversation and speculation about Meghan’s evolving role and her acceptance of a more supportive position, marking a potential transformation in the couple's public dynamics. Observers and fans are left questioning whether Meghan will fully embrace this quieter, traditional stance or if this is simply a temporary adaptation in response to public opinion.
