The Duchess of Sussex would keep a private diary in which she would have poured out all her experiences while she was an active member of the monarchy.
Although today she chooses to stay away from controversy, Prince Harry's wife would not rule out publishing her experiences if the attacks against her continue. Five years after the tour of South Africa that marked the beginning of the end of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the British monarchy, information came to light that would change everything and that could put the Royal Family at risk: the Duchess of Sussex would keep a private diary in which she would have documented all her experiences while she was an active member of the monarchy.
"It is evident that the diary will continue to be a potential weapon in her hands if she ever feels the need to seek some kind of revenge. For the moment, she has behaved discreetly since Oprah Winfrey appeared and after the documentary series," revealed Jennie Bond, former royal correspondent for the BBC in conversation with The Mirror.
"She probably expects the Royal Family to behave in a threatening manner. There was a very strong implication of this possibility in her statements about 'I have a lot to say until I stop' and 'I have never signed anything that prevents me from speaking'. She has mentioned a couple of times in the last year or two that she kept a diary of her life in the Palace, and I think there is a very realistic possibility that, based on this document, she will write her own memoirs," added Roya Nikkhah, royal affairs editor of the Sunday Times.
As both journalists indicate, the diary exists and would be kept under lock and key as a shield against a possible attack by the monarchy, which no longer hides its contempt for the former actress, who was never fully welcomed in the family that looked askance at her independence and her past.
If the diary is published, it will be a source of controversy, as Meghan Markle's statements are expected to confirm or deny all the information that has been leaked about her during her time in the Royal Family, some of which she has already denied during her much-talked-about interview with Oprah and in her Netflix docuseries.
