Thirty-five million dollars wasn't enough to convince George Clooney to take a one-day job. The 60-year-old Oscar-winning actor revealed in an interview with The Guardian that he declined the offer on ethical grounds.

"Well yes. I was offered $35 million for a day's work on an airline ad, but I discussed it with Amal and we decided it wasn't worth it. I was associated with a country that, while an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought, 'Well, if it takes a minute of my sleep, it's not worth it,'" Clooney said.

The country to which the actor was referring was not revealed, but the reason for Clooney's questioning is that he "could not sleep peacefully if he accepted a job from a country where human rights are not respected."

However, everything indicates that Clooney does not need those 35 million dollars. His successful career has left him a fortune between 250 and 500 million. That career includes not only the successful roles he has played over the years, but also the big brands he has been associated with.

The actor and businessman sold his Casamigos tequila company for almost a billion dollars and from his contract with Nespresso, which has lasted two decades, he has accumulated 40 million.

But George is not the only successful Clooney involved in social causes. His wife, Amal, is a human rights lawyer. "The type of work my wife does leads her to confront and prosecute terrorist groups, so we must take every possible precaution to keep our family safe," the actor said in an open letter published in Variety.

This he said in reference to a request he made to the press not to take or publish photos of his twin sons. “We cannot protect our children if a publication puts their faces on the cover”
