Jennifer Garner sees Ben Affleck as more of a brother than an ex-husband
Jennifer Garner is said to view her ex-husband Ben Affleck as more of a brother than anything else, despite their past relationship. However, her fiancé John Miller is reportedly not comfortable with the level of closeness Garner maintains with Affleck and is pushing to exclude him from their upcoming wedding.
According to sources, Miller feels validated that his previous warnings have kept Affleck from interfering in their relationship, but now he’s drawing a firmer line. He allegedly wants Affleck completely barred from the ceremony, even though Affleck shares parenting responsibilities for Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13, with Garner.
Affleck’s continued involvement in Garner’s life stems largely from their role as co-parents. Despite this, insiders claim that Miller views Affleck’s presence at the wedding as an unnecessary distraction, likely to overshadow the day and make things uncomfortable. He reportedly finds any interaction with Affleck tense and unpleasant, and would rather avoid it altogether.
Garner, on her part, has tried to explain to Miller that Affleck feels more like a sibling than an ex-spouse, but the message doesn’t seem to be landing. The ongoing tension is said to make things awkward whenever the two men are in the same space. Miller understands that occasional interactions are inevitable due to the children, but he’s pushing for firm boundaries and wants Garner to set them clearly with Affleck.
Meanwhile, sources close to the situation suggest that Affleck feels sidelined and believes he has had to give up a great deal for the sake of Garner’s relationship with Miller.
